There are mainly three different types of printer cartridges available. The printer companies manufacture Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) printer cartridges. OEMs are often very expensive but are of high quality. Compatible ink cartridges, also called generic ink cartridges are discount cartridges built to OEM specifications that are produced by other different companies other than printer companies. Remanufactured cartridges present the category of used cartridges that have been refilled. They are the cheapest cartridges in the market but give good quality work as well. It is possible to recycle printer cartridges.
